The wind knows no bounds, but does carry unique characteristics depending on its geographic location. In our series "Where You Are," we will discuss wind patterns and the effectiveness of personal wind turbines in regions across the globe. According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) the cities with the highest average wind speed are as follows (We wanted to pick a top ten, but Alaska takes home the award for the most cities with high wind speed, so we wanted to make sure others were recognized!):
