Today’s children can’t take for granted a future powered by nonrenewable resources such as oil and natural gas.
That’s why Southwest Windpower is taking the lead in encouraging clean-energy wind turbine installations on campuses from elementary schools to colleges and universities, and in promoting wind energy education for students of all ages.
By giving children and young adults hands-on exposure to the power and efficiency of wind generators today, they’ll better realize wind’s potential for helping meet their energy needs in the future.
Southwest Windpower is involved in the two programs below to help install our wind turbines on school campuses.
Wind Powering America Wind for Schools Program
Programs in 11 states are led by university-based Wind Applications Centers, which provide guidance on how to secure additional funding and support for wind turbine installation. Our Skystream wind turbines are one of the recommended technologies for participating schools.
Southwest Windpower Educational Discounts
Educational discounts may be offered on a case-by-case basis for Skystream, AIR and Whisper turbine installations at schools that meet certain criteria. Approved schools are required to work with an authorized Skystream dealer to conduct or oversee the installation.
